Easy Keto Chocolate Peanut Butter Mug Cake recipe, perfect for busy mornings and kids!

On busy mornings, mug cakes are my go-to breakfast recipe.
They are easy to make and only take a little over a minute to cook.
The awesome thing about making a mug cake is that you can change them daily, so you never get bored.
If you find yourself getting a little sick of bacon and eggs every morning, keto mug cakes are the way to go.
Today's Keto Chocolate Peanut Butter Mug Cake is delicious and pairs well with your morning coffee.
To mix it up, try different nut butter.
I made two versions of this cake, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate.
I love dark chocolate, but my husband hates it.
Sometimes I use different sugars for the two of us because he says Stevia leaves an aftertaste in his mouth (I disagree).
For his recipes, I usually substitute Stevia for Erythritol, but I still use Stevia drops because he doesn't complain about those.

The Stevia you use, is it the Stevia in the Raw where you use cup for cup substitution with regular sugar. 2Tblsp seem a lot. Thanks I can't wait to try all these recipes.
ketosizeme says
Yes, it's Stevia in the Raw. You can change that up based on your taste! If you only normally use a small amount then I would use less. I usually use 1-2 in my coffee as well so I may like it a lot sweeter than you do. 🙂
Mari says
I tried your recipe but did not use stevia power but put 3 drops of stevia. It turned out very bland and absolutely no sweetness. So I'm confused, you have stevia listed twice one power and one drops. Can I use Swerve granulated sugar? Thank you
ketosizeme says
Mari, you can but you may have to mess around with it to find the desired sweetness. I don't use Swerve so I'm not sure how much you would need. I'm guessing it would be the same as the powder. For me these were very sweet, but everyone has different tastes. When something is too sweet to me, my husband says it's just sweet enough so I always try to add a little extra sugar to his. I also feel like natural pb is sweet on it's on, but he says it's not sweet at all. Thanks for checking out our site!
Ckk says
I used 2 TBS Swerve and to me it still wasn't sweet enough!
Sydney says
I'm confused by the nutritional information you've calculated. Does this make 1 serving? 2 tablespoons of butter are 200 calories alone. An egg is 70, almond flour is 40 a tablespoon, and peanut butter close to 100 per tablespoon. MFP calculated this recipe at 455 and 9 net carbs.
ketosizeme says
Sydney, oh my gosh you are right! I originally made these with one egg but after experimenting, I found that they were more moist and delicious with an additional egg. When I added the info, I forgot to update that. Thank you for catching this! I updated the recipe. It should have been two eggs and 1Tbsp of butter. Thank you so much!
Katy says
Two large eggs is too much egg! It doesn't even look like you used two in the photos.
ketosizeme says
Hey Katy! We love it with two eggs and we have gotten to the point where just one egg isn't moist enough for our taste. If you don't like two eggs feel free to just use one! I hope you have a fabulous Easter!
Stephanie says
How do you make them milk chocolate for your hubby? I prefer milk choc
ketosizeme says
I used Milk Chocolate Cocoa Powder instead of Dark Chocolate! I'll link to what I used above!

Hi! I just tried this recipe today and it didn't have much flavor. I followed it to a tee, I promise. I did use stevia liquid drops instead of stevia or preferred sugar substitute , and I used milk chocolate cocoa. Hershey's. So, I stirred it while it was hot and added some more butter, more cocoa, and like two tablespoons of Swerve. Finally it was tasty to me. I promise I'm not trying to critique it, but I do want your readers to know they can add a little more of the stuff they like and it still will work. I love stuff on the sweeter and really chocolatey side. Thanks for sharing your recipes.

Wow, this hit the spot! I used spenda...one packet since it was all I had, and some Lilly's dark chocolate chip. It turned out amazing! Thank you!
Jo says
Thank you. I just finished my first attempt. I used the Xylitol. I had to cook for 90 seconds.
It is the bomb!!! Moist and chocolatey and the peanut butter was to die for!
Jenn says
I just made this and it is awesome I use a stevia or preferred sugar substitute /stevia granular blend. It is so moist and dense, I have to split it with my boyfriend. He loves it also and he is not a peanut butter fan. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
D Palmer says
I used Truvia and this was amazing!! (I also added just a drop of almond extract!) This was just the sweet treat I was looking for. Thanks for the fantastic recipe!
Lisa says
Changes- I just used 1 egg, 2 TBS confectioner SWERVE, and an extra dab of choc powder. Micro 60 seconds!! Such a nice treat!!
Morgan says
I found that 2 eggs was too much... unfortunately it tasted like a chocolate egg patty in some areas. :/ will try it with 1 egg next time!
Diane says
It was good but it was very dense. Maybe I over cooked it. Is it supposed to be kind of gooey inside? I had some almond milk whipped cream and that was yummy. Next time I'll cook it a little less. It is enough for 2.
Rachel says
Great recipe!! It was moist, flavorful, and the perfect Keto treat! I added whipped cream on top and honestly. Best tasting Keto dessert! I could only eat half and was too full to finish! Thanks for this yummy recipe!! Will become a house favorite!
