Breaking Bad Holiday Habits to Stick to Your Keto Lifestyle
I’m guessing you’ve probably tried to watch your weight during the holidays so you don’t gain a lot of extra weight.
While most people skip dieting and wait until New Year’s Day to start losing weight, you have decided not to make that mistake.
Some holiday habits you’ve developed over the years can sabotage your progress and cause you to gain weight.
Today we are going to work on breaking those bad holiday habits.

Trying To Hoard Calories For The Big Day:
Skipping meals, especially to save up so you can eat all you want at the holiday party may seem smart, but it’s not.
Skipping meals can lead to an intense hunger making you more vulnerable to any easy foods you can grab even if they are not keto-friendly.
Be sure to eat three meals and day with a keto snack.
Each meal can be smaller than usual, with fewer carbs and more protein to help sustain you.
Eat before you go to the gathering so you will also be less vulnerable to making choices you don’t want to make.
Be an awesome guest and bring a keto a dish or two to be certain you will have something to eat and can share with others.
Avoiding nuts because they are high in fat.
If you are not allergic to nuts, you should consider them to be a delicious part of your keto lifestyle.
They are high in fat and fiber to help you feel full. Research has also shown that people who ate 1 ounce of nuts about 30 minutes before their main meal tended to eat a lot less and were generally more successful at losing weight.
Nuts are full of healthy fats, plus vitamins and minerals. Walnuts can also help lower cholesterol naturally. Eat raw nuts rather than salted in order to avoid weight gain from water retention. You can also make these keto candied pecans and give them as gifts!

Keto Bacon Wrapped Turkey Breast Visual Directions:
Written Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Flip the bone-in turkey over, and place the onion, celery and garlic cloves in the cavity under the breast. Flip the turkey breast back over, and place it into a baking dish or roasting pan so that it is skin side up.
3. Sprinkle the dried sage, celery salt, poultry seasoning and minced garlic on the top of the turkey, and use your hands to massage the ingredients into the skin of the entire turkey breast.
4. Place 6 slices of bacon vertically on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. Weave another 6 strips horizontally through the first six slices to form a basket weave type of design. Place the tray into the freezer for 15 minutes to harden a bit. This will make it easier to drape over your turkey without it falling apart.
5. Drape the woven bacon slices over the top of your turkey breast, and mold the bacon into the shape of the turkey breast.
Place the turkey into the oven, and bake for roughly 15 minutes per lb or 2 1/2 hours. Be sure that your turkey breast reaches an internal temperature of 150-155 degrees in the thickest part of the meat before removing from the oven.
Skip The Drinks!
Alcohol has no nutritional value and won’t help you reach your goals.
It is common to eat much more than you normally would when drinking. As soon as your inhibitions are gone, so is your concern for your body and what you put in your mouth.
Pair that with the fact that most holiday-themed drinks are highly caloric and you’ve landed yourself into some keto diet trouble.
My Tip: Don’t skip meals and eat before you go. If you do wish to have a drink, drink 1 glass of water first, the alcoholic drink, and then a second glass of water. This will keep your mouth busy, fill you up, and therefore make you much less likely to overindulge on food or alcohol at the party.
Avoid these bad habits and see what a difference it can make to keeping you in control of your keto diet and weight loss.
